New Brief: Commercial Adventure Sports Director
Project Overview
We’re seeking a commercially minded sports director with a strong storytelling sensibility for a cinematic branded film centred around adventure sports.
This project is for a global high end brand and is a great opportunity to showcase your skill and knowledge of sports focused filming and working with sport talent and communities.
The film itself is story-first. We’re looking for directors who can bring narrative clarity, and cultural authenticity to the piece.
Surf / sea knowledge is advantageous, but not essential. What matters most is a director who understands human stories within high-performance environments, and can balance brand storytelling with cultural credibility.
We’re particularly interested in directors who:
• Have experience directing high-end commercial or branded storytelling
• Bring a clear narrative perspective to their work
• Understand how to craft films that feel both visually striking and emotionally grounded
• Have worked on projects involving real communities, athletes or subcultures
• Are excited to collaborate early and help shape the direction of the film
Because this project will likely be visually driven, we are encouraging director + DOP pairings where appropriate. If there is a cinematographer you regularly collaborate with, particularly someone experienced in water or extreme-environment cinematography, we’d love to see that relationship reflected.
